International Youth Camp 2011 Schleswig-Holstein

It is a great pleasure to present our International Youth Camp 2011: District 111N Germany – Schleswig-Holstein BEACH, SPORT, FUN AND SUN!

We offer one week family hosting fromJune, 26th to July 3rd andtwo weeks Youth Camp experience fromJuly 3rd to July 17th, 2011 

During these three weeks young people from all over the world

 

  • Gather in a spirit of brotherhood and cooperation
  • Discover the Northern Germany between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea, including a weekend in Germany’s capital, Berlin
  • Receive international lifetime friendship in Lionism

Our district welcomes 25 Youth Exchange Students from all over the world, aged between 17 and 21.

  • The Lions in the District 111N pay for the stay
  • The sponsoring Lions Club in the home country of the Youth Exchange
    Student is responsible for travel costs, travel-, health- and other
    appropriate insurance and the pocket money
  • Non-Lions’ children are accepted on the same terms and conditions
    as Lions’ children
  • The official language is English – good knowledge is obligatory
  • The Youth Exchange Student must be in good health condition
  • The application and indemnity agreement form has to be filled in typewritten in English and sent in four copies together with four passport-sized pictures of the Youth Exchange Student
  • The Youth Exchange Student has to write a personal letter of introduction, accompanied with the application, to the prospective host family in English – “dear unknown family”. The letter has to contain information on the student’s interests, studies, family members (if possible with a picture), home community and expectations for the exchange.

The place for arrival and departure is Hamburg Airport. Time of arrival/departure shall not exceed 8:00 am/8:00 pm.

We invite you to take part in our Youth Exchange Program by sending mature, open-minded young people. They will enjoy and benefit from the idea in Lions Clubs International object No. 1:
“… To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the people of the world.”

Our goals are to create friendship between young people from many different nations, to develop leadership and to encourage creativity and self-development. We are looking forward to be the hosts in Lionism for your Youth Exchange Student.
